TEACHING/INSTRUCTOR

Picture Toni Härkönen/ LIKE

I have trained and guided individuals and groups from various backgrounds, including immigrants, people with developmental disabilities, seniors, children, youth, asylum seekers, teachers, group leaders, and health center staff. In workshop settings, participants can be creators, producers, and performers of the presentation. The core of the work is that workshops and community art methods are tailored to the wishes and needs of the specific community involved. I am interested in how participants perceive and experience their surroundings. The work is based on the idea that each of us has material, observations, and experiences that are intriguing. The starting point for different exercises is the person themselves and their relationship to their environment, their memories, and their values. What are the things today that should be voiced or shared with others? The form can be exactly how we envision it. The core idea of my work is that art is a tool for belonging and can promote social emancipation.
